Pathminder Update 15 October 2024

On 15 October 2024, Jimmy, Tim, Jim, Richard, and new Pathminder Stephen Gilmour, made a great start to the tidying up the wilderness at Drumbain, which had lain untouched for several years due to a change in land ownership.

It was an A-Team pensioners' outing, and impressively we managed to cut down the 300m long head-high bracken covered path from the waterfall to the open Drumbain Bay leading to the Wet Gully, and rake and clear away all the vegetation - leaving a fine path for any walkers on the Dunure to Ayr stretch.

We also emptied the Blue Bin and carried out a couple of bags of rubbish for later removal uphill.

Next week, weather permitting, we will tackle the Wet Gully and path to the Dunduff bridge with the same vigour and brawn! It may take more than one outing, but we'll see!
