Linking Paths

There are several must-see, signed detours off the official path, to The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum (National Trust for Scotland, Dundonald Castle (Birthplace of Stuart Dynasty), and Kilwinning Abbey

As one of Scotland's Great Trails, the Ayrshire Coastal Path links with several sister trails.
1. At Glenapp, with the Mull of Galloway Trail created by The Rotary Club of Stranraer.
2. At Stranraer, the MGT crosses The Southern Upland Way.
3. At Ayr, with The River Ayr Way.
4. At Skelmorlie, the Clyde Coastal Path – created by the Rotary Clubs of Allander and Gourock – runs from Wemyss Bay across Erskine Bridge to Milngavie to link with the The West Highland Way.
5. While still maintaining their individual identity, the three Rotary-created trails – from Mull of Galloway along the Ayrshire Coast and up the Clyde Coast to Milngavie – combine to form the Firth o Clyde Rotary Trail.
6. The Arran ferry from Ardrossan gives walkers access to The Arran Coastal Way.
7. The Rothesay ferry from Wemyss Bay accesses the West Island Way round the Isle of Bute.
