The Annual Big Beach Clean is now a joint venture between Rotary and Ayrshire Coastal Path. The Rotary clubs of Ayr, Prestwick and Alloway, together with the help of South and North Ayrshire Councils, ACP Pathminders, Scottish Wildlife Trust, farmers, private businesses and numerous community groups, hope to be able to cover up to 20 beaches in this year’s 16th Annual Beach Clean between Portencross in the north and Ballantrae in the south.

This is a families and friends event taking place on the morning of Saturday 29th April. Please put it in your diary now in order to help spruce up our beaches for the holiday months ahead. It is an opportunity to ensure that the Ayrshire coastline is at its sparkling best for locals and visitors alike.  Anyone can be involved – locally in Ayr, Prestwick , Girvan or on the further-removed beaches where most debris tends to have accumulated as a result of the winter storms and where most volunteers are generally needed.

At present, the beaches expected to be included are: Ardneil Bay, Irvine, Prestwick, Newton, Ayr South Harbour, Ayr,Seafield , Doonfoot, Bracken Bay, Fisherton Bay, Dunure, Croy, Culzean Bay, Turnberry Bay North, Turnberry Bay South, Dowhill North, Dowhill South, Dipple, Girvan and Ballantrae.
