The initial roll-out of the blue bins took place this week at Balkenna and Turnberry. These are being installed at strategic points on the path to encourage walkers to remove plastic litter from the beaches for recycling. ACP Path Wardens will be resposible for the occassional removal of filled bags. Please note: PLASTIC WASTE ONLY. Thanks to Neil Henderson of GSK for kindly supplying the bins. Today also saw completion of the clean up of the Dowhill and Dipple beaches. Many people contributed to this but thanks are due mainly to Chris and Di who were ever uncomplainingly present. These beaches are currently spotless. Let’s hope they stay that way! Some of the Team Turnberry Steps In Store Perfect…………… ……………..Bliss...

Last week we had a squad of 10 out (yes 10) including new member Pat McCall. Good progress was made on both fronts, with another impressive pile of rubbish ready for uplifting by the Council. Not a bad haul! The foundations on the North side of the burn have been levelled, with 3 layers of re-cycled slabs now in place, and the foundation excavation on the South side has been completed ready for stone and slab work. North Bank South...

This will let us speed on with laying the concrete slab flat bed for our byre-slats abutments this week. Opportunity has been taken to finish of the cleaning of the Dowhill beach which it was not possible to complete on the day of the official beach clean. Plenty willing pickers still keen to do a good...

We have been advised by DuPont that the repairs to the recently storm-damaged bridge and pipes at the Milton burn are now complete. When inspected, there was a strong flow of water running through the culverts, and the ground on the bridge has been infilled. The warning signage on the two stiles on either side have now been removed and it is safe for walkers to use the bridge once...
